Acura Integra
Owner: Tom Tang
Article by: TunerPlayground.com

The car started out as a Craigslist posting that I stumbled upon around the end of November in 2007. The owner was trying to sell the car for $4400, a 1995 Acura Integra GSR with 145,000 miles on it.

At the time of purchase, the car was Milano Red with gray cloth interior. The paint was in rough shape, with a lot of fading and missing clearcoat, scratches, blemishes, etc. The passenger side mirror was missing. There was no radio and no speakers. The passenger side headlight was broken, the driver headlight was flooded with water. The car had stock GSR “fat-five” wheels that were spray painted black, smoked corner lights, and purple faded tint on the back and passenger window that was beginning to bubble.

I had the car thrown on a lift, checked everything out, and did a leakdown and compression test. I took it out for a drive and remembered why the Integra has always had a special place in my heart. I talked the seller into accepting my cash offer, and the car was mine.

This is what it looked like when I first brought it home:

I started out by replacing the passenger mirror, swapping the interior for a black leather setup from a 99 GSR. I got Pioneer speakers and a Pioneer deck. Then I changed the rims and suspension, I bought some Rota Group N’s in black with red lip, 15×6.5, with Falken Azenis RT-215 tires in 205/50/15. Replaced the stock suspension with Tokico HP shocks and Skunk2 Springs.

I got front and rear sway bars from an Integra Type R, a front strut bar, and a 4-point strut bar in the rear.

Soon after, I took the car over to ADS Mobile in San Bruno to get the old tint removed, and had all the windows re-tinted with 20% 3M tint. Then I went ahead and replaced the headlights with some aftermarket ones.

After:

I went ahead and replaced the smoked clear corners with full amber ones and also added an ITR polyurethane replica front lip.

I had the rear tail lights sanded down and re clear coated, also added a Honda badge and removed the Acura badge. I removed all the wiper arms, wet sanded, and repainted them black, and I had the rubber moldings reconditioned and dyed black. I bought a Spoon N1 Exhaust to complement the other engine modifications that I had done. This is what the car looked like by January:

In February the car was vandalized and damaged by thieves. The front looked like this:

In March, I decided then that I wanted to fix the front and have the entire car repainted.

In order to keep it safe, I had my alarm setup custom installed at Limitless Motorsports.
